www.norbertines.org

"A collaborative exhibition of new artwork and contemporary music by St. Norbert College faculty members, Fr. James P. Neilson, O. Praem. and soprano Yi-Lan Niu.

Inspired by the sacred environment of St. Norbert Abbey, the artistic legacy of the religious imagination, and images drawn from ancient Chinese poetry, this shared sculptural exhibition and musical concert will celebrate the “art and artistry of meditation” and feature the world premiere of new music composed by Dr. Alexander Nohai-Seaman and Mr. Jerry Hui.

Turning Old Pages, Singing New Notes seeks to combine and present both Western and Eastern aesthetics, the visual and the aural, the permanent and the ethereal, and the rhythms and movements of natural and religious rituals. A song cycle inspired by the life and words of Trappist monk, poet and social activist, Fr. Thomas Merton (1915-1968), will be featured."
